This is the examination element of the course. Which will include: ● Types of financial documents: purchase orders, delivery notes, goods received notes, invoices, credit notes, statements of account, remittance advice slips, receipts. ● Importance of accuracy when these documents are being used. ● Importance of accurate financial documents and record-keeping to business accounting. Students have been working on the modelling of their design ideas. Exploring materials, methods of construction and finishes. In Term 3 they will be making final decisions and then making their final pieces. The final testing and evaluation will take place towards the end of Term 3 with a final deadline of February half-term. One lesson in five will be a theory lesson to support revision for their final exam.	Student can receive general feedback on their projects in line with the examboard rules. We assess written work at least every 6 lessons and they receive feedback verbally in most lessons. If a student is behind or struggling to be committed to their coursework, each subject is holding intervention sessions which they will be invited to attend afterschool and in their lunchtimes. Parents will be contacted if the teacher has concerns for the quality or quantity of work from a student.

In term 4 students will be focussed on preparation for their GCSE exam. They will revisit their PPE papers from November and February and address misconceptions or areas where they need to improve their knowledge. Revision exercises will be both written and practical in nature.	Teacher will use peer, self and teacher assessment this term to improve students understanding of the mark schemes for exam questions. Every question they complete will have some form of marking.

DT Food

Students started their second piece of non examined assessment (coursework) at the end of November. This years briefs are – - - ….Foods high in calcium for a person to improve bone health. … Plant based foods for a teenager … Foods from North or South America. Students will start their technical cooks for these briefs in January, closely followed by a practice 3 hour exam cook and then their final cook hopefully in the week before the Easter holidays. Students will be finished with their evaluation of this coursework at the start of Term 4.	Students will receive feedback on sections of their coursework twice in this term. Examboard rules stipulate that we cannot give specific points of improvement for each individual student, however we can give general feedback and exeplar materials for all grades area on the student’s TEAMS area.

Students will be moving onto the preparation for their 10-hour exam that will take place towards the start of Term 5. This is Component 2: Externally Set Assignment. Students respond to their chosen starting point from an externally set assignment paper relating to their subject title, evidencing coverage of all four assessment objectives. From AQA: AQA will provide a separate externally set assignment for each title, each with seven different starting points. Students must select and respond to one starting point from their chosen title. The externally set assignment provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate, through an extended creative response, their ability to draw together different areas of knowledge, skills and/or understanding in response to their selected starting point. The extended creative response must explicitly evidence students’ ability to draw together different areas of knowledge, skill and/or understanding from initial engagement with their selected starting point through to their realisation of intentions in the 10 hours of supervised time. Students must ensure that the total submission for Component 2 evidence coverage of all four assessment objectives and evidence of drawing activity and written annotation. Students must identify and acknowledge sources which are not their own.	Students will receive feedback through WWW/EBI on each section of work. They will be told the band of mark scheme that their work currently reflects. Please note that teachers are prohibited from allocating a grade for coursework / external exam piece to students when the work is in progress.
