    Press Release 2011

    A level :

Headteacher of Guilsborough School, Mrs Staley, said she was delighted with the A level results students achieved yesterday, when 3 students succeeded in gaining places at Cambridge University. There have also been other high achieving students, with nine gaining straight A grades and many others achieving A and B grades across the subjects. Particular praise is due to Christopher Thomas who achieved 4 A*/A grades in all his subjects.

The overall pass rate was 99.2%, part of a growing trend over the past 5 years, with 44% of grades at A and B grade.

Mrs Staley, Guilsborough’s headteacher, said: “We are delighted with the achievements of our students and wish them continued success in their future careers. As a year group they have worked extremely hard, and also understood the importance of giving something back, providing leadership in the school and across a whole range of community projects.” These two elements contributed to OFSTED’s ‘outstanding’ judgement on the sixth-form earlier in the year.
