Pretty Muddy Race for Life
Five determined Year 8 students showed incredible spirit and teamwork as they took on the Pretty Muddy 5km Race for Life in Leamington Spa on Saturday 2nd May.
The group of five girls - Megan, Matilda, Esmé, Guin and Emily, joined hundreds of participants in the fun but challenging muddy obstacle course, all in support of Cancer Research UK. Despite the slippery conditions and muddy obstacles along the way, the team tackled the course with enthusiasm and resilience, encouraging each other every step of the journey.
As well as successfully completing the course, they also raised over £950 in sponsorship as a team, including Gift Aid.
The students fully embraced the spirit of the event, crossing the finish line covered in mud but smiling from ear to ear. Their determination, teamwork and commitment to such an important cause make them a real credit to the school community.
Well done to all five runners for their fantastic achievement!
Honouring Sir David Attenborough
This month students and staff came together to celebrate the life and legacy of Sir David Attenborough in celebration of his 100th Birthday through a range of activities inspired by nature, conservation, and curiosity about the world around us.
Throughout the week of his birthday, students explored wildlife at our school pond, took part in a tutor group wildlife quiz challenge, and recorded heartfelt birthday messages for a special tribute video. As part of the celebrations, our school community also raised over £120 through a pennies collection in support of the incredible work carried out by Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital, helping wildlife rescue and rehabilitation efforts locally.
The week was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Sir David’s lasting impact on generations of young people and to reflect on the importance of protecting the natural world for the future.
