It has been another busy and productive term for Eco Club! Pupils have been working hard to support our school’s sustainability projects and have shown fantastic enthusiasm and creativity throughout.

One of our recent projects has involved creating new crisp packet recycling bins for the canteen. These will help encourage everyone to recycle more responsibly and reduce waste across the school. The pupils have enjoyed designing and preparing the bins and are looking forward to seeing them in use.

In the allotment, our flowering plants and pumpkin plants are growing extremely well thanks to the care and dedication of our Eco Club members. Students have been learning about planting, watering and maintaining the allotment while also helping to create a welcoming space for wildlife and pollinators. We are excited to watch everything continue to grow over the coming weeks.

We are also pleased that members of the Eco Committee will once again be volunteering at Green Welford’s KidsFest on 6th June. This free community event is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate nature, sustainability and local environmental projects. We hope to see many families there supporting the event and enjoying the activities on offer.
