Young Enterprise Success for Wires and Pliers

Congratulations to Wires and Pliers, Guilsborough Academy’s Young Enterprise team, on their fantastic success at the county finals last term, where they secured two awards: Best Team and Runner-Up.

The team impressed judges with their creativity, determination, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit throughout the Young Enterprise programme. Their commitment to developing their business and working together has been recognised with these well-deserved awards.

We are incredibly proud of Wires and Pliers and the way they represented Guilsborough Academy. Their achievements are a fantastic example of the skills, confidence and experiences that opportunities such as Young Enterprise provide.

Well done to the whole team on this outstanding success.

County Swimming Champion: Congratulations to Willow

Congratulations to Willow on an outstanding achievement at the County Swimming Championships, where she competed in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke events.

Willow delivered two fantastic performances, finishing 4th in the 100m breaststroke before achieving an incredible victory in the 200m breaststroke to become County Champion.

This success is a wonderful reflection of Willow’s hard work, dedication and determination. We are incredibly proud of her achievement and the commitment she continues to show in her sport.

Cricket Success for Year 8 Students

Congratulations to six of our Year 8 students from Haddon CC on another fantastic cricketing achievement this season.

The team delivered an impressive performance against Rugby CC, securing a well-deserved 7-wicket victory through excellent teamwork, determination and commitment.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication and enthusiasm shown by our students, and we look forward to following their continued success throughout the season.

 

Amélie Selected to Represent Team GB in Monaco Team Racing Championships

Huge congratulations to Amélie and her teammates on qualifying to represent Team GB at the Monaco Team Racing Championships.

Following two challenging days of competitive racing, the team’s hard work, skill and determination were rewarded with this fantastic achievement. This selection marks an exciting milestone for Amélie, who is now a double Team GB sailor, representing her country in both individual sailing and team racing.

We are incredibly proud of Amélie’s dedication, commitment and success, and wish her and her teammates the very best as they take on this exciting opportunity.

 

Music Festival Success for Emily

Congratulations to Emily on her recent success at the Leamington Spa Competitive Music Festival, her final festival appearance of the year following performances at Milton Keynes and Northampton.

Emily performed in the Grade 1–2 Piano class, where she achieved 1st place, receiving excellent feedback from the adjudicator and being awarded the Henri Shawe Cup.

She also took on the challenge of competing in the Under 14s Piano class, a mixed-ability category featuring performers playing at a significantly higher grade level. Despite being one of the younger and less experienced competitors, Emily delivered a confident performance and achieved a fantastic joint 2nd place.

This is a wonderful achievement and reflects Emily’s hard work, dedication and willingness to challenge herself as a young musician. Well done, Emily!

Aquathlon Success for Guilsborough Students

We are incredibly proud of three of our students who took part in the Sandwell Aquathlon, a challenging event combining an open water swim with a run through the pathways of Sandwell Valley Country Park.

All three students performed exceptionally well, demonstrating determination, resilience and excellent sporting spirit throughout the competition. Nate achieved an impressive 1st place in his age category, while Oisin and Tristan both secured fantastic top 10 finishes in their respective categories.

Congratulations to all three students on this outstanding achievement. Their commitment, dedication and enthusiasm for their sport are a fantastic example of the qualities we are proud to celebrate at Guilsborough Academy.

 

Year 7 Athletes Represent South Northants at County Championships

Following their fantastic performances at the District Athletics Championships in June, five of our Year 7 students were selected to represent South Northants at the County Athletics Championships.

The competition brought together talented athletes from across the county, with students competing across a range of track and field events. Our athletes performed with determination, resilience and a positive attitude, giving their very best in every race, jump and throw.

We were especially delighted to see South Northants crowned the overall winners of the county competition, making this an even more memorable achievement for our students, who played their part in the team’s success.

Throughout the day, our students represented Guilsborough Academy exceptionally well, demonstrating respect, sportsmanship and teamwork. Their commitment and conduct reflected our school values and made them outstanding ambassadors for the Academy.

We are incredibly proud of all five athletes and congratulate them on this fantastic achievement. Their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm for sport are a credit to themselves, their families and our school.

Gymnastics Success for Emelia at County Competition

Congratulations to Year 7 student Emelia on her fantastic achievement at the County 4 Piece Gymnastics Competition.

Following a recent Achilles tendon injury, Emelia showed incredible determination and commitment throughout her recovery, working hard to return to competition. Despite the challenge, she was able to compete in the Platinum 13 Years category and achieved some outstanding results.

Emelia was crowned County Champion on Beam, achieving 1st place in the event. She also secured 2nd place on Uneven Bars and finished as 2nd overall gymnast in her category.

This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of Emelia’s dedication, resilience and passion for gymnastics. We are incredibly proud of her success and the commitment she has shown.
