Year 8 Students visit Bletchley Park

Our Year 8 students got to experience an exciting cross-curricular trip to Bletchley Park this week.

The visit combined maths and history in a hands-on experience that saw students take part in a challenging codebreaking session. A highlight of the day was the rare opportunity to see and even handle an original Enigma machine – the iconic device used by German forces during World War II and famously cracked by Allied codebreakers.

Staff praised the students for their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the day, while several members of the public commented on their exemplary behaviour and impeccable manners.

A huge thank you to Trip Lead and Head of Year 8, Mrs Vickers, along with all the staff who supported the visit.

Mrs Vickers said:

The students were an absolute pleasure to take – engaged, polite, and full of enthusiasm. We had a great time and I couldn’t be prouder of how they represented the academy.
