Key Stage 3 Curriculum

In Key Stage 3 all students will study the following subjects:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Science
  • Computer Science
  • Design and Technology
  • Geography
  • History
  • Performing Arts
  • Philosophy, Religion & Ethics
  • Physical Education
  • Art & Design
  • A Modern Foreign Language (German and Spanish)

Key Stage 4 Curriculum

Based on their specific skills and interests, our students choose their individual learning pathway. For the majority of students, their studies will be recognised through GCSEs or vocational qualifications.

All students will continue to study a core curriculum, including

  • English Language
  • English Literature
  • Mathematics
  • Science (combined or separate)
  • PE
  • Careers
  • Religious & Moral Education

Students will also have the opportunity to select Subjects of their choosing during year 9. At Guilsborough we pride ourselves on offering a breth of courses including

We assess students at regular intervals over the course of their KS4 studies. We measure expected performance for the end of Year 11 against challenging aspirational targets.

Key Stage 5 Curriculum

At Key Stage 5, we offer a diverse, challenging and engaging curriculum. The Sixth Form is committed to providing students with the courses that match their aspirations, with the majority advancing to higher education.

We offer a variety of courses, including A Levels, BTECs at Level 3, the Extended Project Qualification and other highly regarded vocational courses. Students also complete at least one meaningful work experience placement. Some students sit additional entrance examinations for a specific University entry. By the end of Key Stage 5, students are well-prepared for the next step in their learning journey - be that University, the world of work or an apprenticeship. We’re committed to equipping our Sixth Form leavers with the skills they’ll need to contribute positively to the world in which they choose to live.
