As we head into a busy Term 6, don’t miss one of the highlights of the school year…
Following our dual health award wins earlier this year, we have now achieved the Silver Healthy Schools Award, issued by West Northamptonshire Council (WNC), marking another significant step forward in our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our students, staff, and wider community.
This year marks a significant milestone at Guilsborough Academy, as we celebrate 20 years of Mr Flanagan delivering the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award.
Over the weekend of 10th - 11th May, our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) participants took on their qualifying expedition - and absolutely smashed it. Setting off from Burton Dassett Hills Country Park, teams of students navigated their way through the Southam to Banbury area, hiking, camping, and cooking entirely independently over the course of two days.
We're proud to announce that we have been officially accredited with the ‘Quality in Careers Standard’, having been nationally assessed as making good progress towards meeting all the accreditation criteria incorporating the Gatsby Benchmarks.
Our Year 8 students got to experience an exciting cross-curricular trip to Bletchley Park this week.
At Guilsborough Academy, rail safety is an issue close to our hearts, made even more poignant by the memory of Harrison Ballantyne, a much-loved student who tragically lost his life in a railway accident. His passing was a devastating loss, but his memory continues to inspire important conversations about rail safety.
In honour of Harrison and to help prevent future tragedies, we are proud to support Rail Safe Friendly (RSF) - a programme dedicated to educating young people on how to stay safe around the railway. This month, RSF celebrates its two-year anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its mission to make rail safety education a standard part of every school’s curriculum.
